Royole Corporation, a global pioneer and innovator of flexible displays, flexible sensors, and smart device technologies, is set to take part in the CES 2017 Power Press Conference. Representing the company will be its founder and CEO, Dr. Bill Liu, and its Chief Creative Officer, global R&B music icon, 5-time Grammy Award nominee and multi-platinum recording artist, Akon. The event will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 12:00pm in the Mandalay Bay South Convention Center, Level 3, Palm A ballroom. The session is open to all CES-credentialed press members.
In addition to discussing how Royole’s flexible display and flexible sensor technologies will change the CE industry, Dr. Liu will introduce the company, its revolutionary 3D virtual mobile theater “Moon”, and a flexible smartphone utilizing their groundbreaking technologies. In addition, Dr. Liu will introduce Akon, Royole’s Chief Creative Officer, and a special Akon edition Moon model that will be on display at both the Power Press session and in the Royole CES 2017 booth (LVCC, South Hall 2, #26002).
Akon was named Royole’s Chief Creative Officer in September 2016. He is involved with product design and creative direction for both the 3D virtual mobile theater “Moon” and future flexible display and flexible sensor products. With his vast experience in music and audio technologies, Akon is the perfect bridge between Royole’s talented engineering team and consumers – developing innovate and limited-edition products for today’s tech savvy users.
“Akon and I are looking forward to meeting and talking with members of the media at our CES 2017 Power Press Conference,” said Dr. Liu. “He shares our focus on the future and innovation. We have a dynamic story to tell regarding our product plans and how they will enhance the lives of consumers around the world. Akon’s input, in just the few short months that he has been part of the Royole team, has been absolutely incredible.”
“We will also be showcasing a new smartphone prototype that uses our proprietary super-thin full color flexible display, allowing the device to be wrapped around the user’s wrist,” Said Dr. Liu. “The flexible smartphone, named FlexPhone, is the first of many innovative products that we will be able to mass produce from our new $1.7B USD production campus, which is scheduled for completion in Q3 of 2017.”
A 3D virtual mobile theater for movies, gaming, and more, the Royole Moon combines two Full HD 1080p AMOLED displays at over 3000 ppi resolution that simulate a giant 800″ curved screen with stereoscopic 3D, and active noise-cancelling headphones, to deliver cinematic movie-watching and immersive-gaming experiences anywhere the wearer desires. Moon’s screen is scalable, allowing full control over the screen size for a personalized viewing experience. Furthermore, it features Royole’s patented foldable design, ultra-soft headphone covers, and a premium breathable eye cover to ensure comfort, even after long periods of continuous use. It also includes 32GB (128GB upgrade available) of internal storage and battery life for up to 5 hours of continuous video playback. Advanced optics allow most eyeglass wearers to enjoy Moon without their corrective lenses.
Moon’s new operating system, Moon OS, utilizes Royole’s patented flexible electronics technologies, allowing full control from the outer surface of one headphone, eliminating the need for an external controller. It also supports third-party development, while allowing the device to be easily connected to, and controlled by, smartphones. Moon is capable of sourcing movies from smartphones, set-top boxes, gaming consoles, and PCs, as well as accessing content from nearly any internet-based service, such as Netflix, Amazon Video, Hulu, YouTube, and more. It enhances gaming experiences on popular platforms, including PlayStation, Wii, Xbox, Apple, Google, and others. With 2D/3D format auto-detection, the user experiences content the way it was designed to be enjoyed. Moon was created using the highest quality materials and comes in three stunning colors: black, white, and gold.
